What we cover

Primary 5 to S3: reading, spelling, grammar and writing, following Curriculum for Excellence literacy.
National 5 English: Reading for Understanding, Analysis and Evaluation (RUAE), critical essays, the Scottish set text and the writing folio.
Higher English: RUAE, critical reading, textual analysis and folio writing, matched to the Qualifications Scotland (formerly SQA) course.

Richard Smith, Managing Director: literacy from P5 to S3, and National 5 and Higher English.

Everyone on the team is PVG checked, with robust safeguarding in place.

Questions parents ask

My child finds RUAE hard. Can you help? Yes. We teach a clear method for each question type and practise it with past-paper style passages until it becomes second nature.

Can you help with the folio? Yes. We help pupils plan, draft and improve their own writing, always within Qualifications Scotland's rules on authenticity.

Do you help younger pupils who don't enjoy reading? Yes. We find texts they enjoy and build reading confidence and stamina gradually.
